If you wonder how changes like pain, happiness or anxiety, can all be affected by something like tapping, it’s because there is one system that ties our body, mood and behaviour together: the autonomic nervous system. The part of us that informs us if we’re safe.
 
Unlike positive thinking, we (gently and safely) bring our problem to mind (exposure) while we use our fingertips to stimulate specific acupuncture points. We either silently tap or voice our issue out loud. 

The tapping sends calming signals to our midbrain. If done well, it allows the body to gently unwind any (old) survival stress (fight, flight, freeze or fawn) from it's system. When we de-stress  we think and feel different. Our health,  behaviour and relationships all benefit.
